Intermediary Categories Methodology
Intermediaries are invited to enter via an online submission any of the intermediary categories which are relevant. The entry form period will close on 1st September.
Our panel of highly experienced judges will then attend a judging session and decide the winners based on your submitted entry form. Chairperson's decision is final.
Small Intermediary of the Year
Open to all intermediary firms of 10 advisers or less. This award will give recognition to the winning firm that it has continually demonstrated over the year that it is at the forefront of the intermediary protection/health insurance markets and is leading the way for firms of similar size to follow. The judges will choose a winner based on core competence, offering clients a bespoke service with clear objectives, improving the reputation of the industry overall.
Protection Intermediary of the Year
Open to all intermediaries writing individual or group protection business. Team or individual entries will be considered. Entries should demonstrate an innovative approach to creating new business, outlining timescales, objectives and results. The entry could touch on success in terms of sales, training and customer service as long as it relates to protection business. Judges will be looking for evidence of individuals or businesses that stand out in terms of implementation, scope or fresh approach.
Mental Health & Wellbeing Champion [NEW FOR 2021]
The winner of this award will be able to demonstrate how they are taking mental health and wellbeing factors in consideration and consistently acting in the best interests of their clients in this regard. Open to all intermediaries writing individual or group protection business (on either an individual or team basis), the judging panel will be looking for specific examples of how intermediaries have educated themselves about mental health and wellbeing issues, adapted their strategies to facilitate the unique needs of their clients and worked to promote mental health and wellbeing awareness to their industry peers.
Excellence in Customer Service Award
This award will credit the individual or company that has demonstrated excellent levels of customer service backed by clear standards and adequate monitoring performance. The judging panel will look for evidence of clearly thought-out customer care strategies and proof of their delivery including client and customer satisfaction.
Outstanding Intermediary Promotion of Protection/Health
The winner will be the best example of a positive boost to your business and the market through good promotions. This could be a strong social media presence, effective marketing campaign or any other initiative that raises the profile of protection or health insurance. The example definition is flexible - it could be either a pre-planned campaign or a response to a situation.
Employee Benefits Intermediary of the Year
One of the broadest categories it is open to all intermediaries writing employee benefit business, regardless of product. Entries should demonstrate an innovative approach to improved market share, creating new business or enhancing customer's loyalty. The entry could touch on success in terms of sales, training and customer service as long as it relates to employee benefit business. Judges will be looking for evidence of individuals or businesses that stand out in terms of implementation, scope or fresh approach.
Outstanding Specialist Intermediary
This new category recognises firms that may provide a bespoke service to customers or serve a niche client base. Entries should demonstrate why this service is so needed and what its impact is within either the health or protection markets. The judges will reward firms that can not only discuss how their service differs to more mainstream adviser firms but how it has made a real difference to customers and third parties alike.
Intermediary of the Year (Individual Achievement)
This is an individual award to recognise an individual from an adviser firm who has worked tirelessly within the protection or health markets over the past 12 months. This person will provide an outstanding service to clients and have an outstanding relationship with insurers and other third parties, but will also be known for and involved in driving industry behaviour and best practice.
