Outstanding Added Value Service (Third Party)
An added value service is a service that provides support to policyholders at no extra cost via their insurance policy. Typical examples of added value services might include a virtual GP, professional nurse services or health practitioners offering second medical opinions. Firms offering an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) as part of an employee benefits schemes could also qualify.
Outstanding Added Value (Provider)
Many life, protection and health insurers add value to customers by offering extra support in the lead up to, during and after a claim. These could be services such as bereavement counselling for family members around a life insurance pay-out, care support around a cancer diagnosis or return-to-work rehabilitation for income protection. Other providers offer reward benefits, incentives and technology services such as smart phone apps and wellbeing hubs to employees. This award recognises the provider of insurance policies which offers the most innovative, diverse and well-rounded range of value-added services to policyholders?
Outstanding Cash Plan
This award seeks to recognise the provider offering the best cash-plans to a corporate and/or individual customer base.
Outstanding New Technology Offering
This award is open to companies such software providers or quotation portals that offer technology solutions, platforms or portals to the health and protection insurance markets. The award seeks to highlight the most innovative and impactful new offering over the past 12 months (June 2020 – June 2021) that has helped insurance providers broaden their market coverage, improve efficiencies and harness the latest in technological advances to further the cause of the health and protection markets.
Insurtech of the Year [NEW FOR 2021]
Insurance technology may not be a new idea but there are always firms that are aiming to launch innovative and disruptive new technologies that have the potential to shake the foundations upon which the industry is built. This award is open to technology firms exclusively dedicated to the health and protection insurance sectors, with either newly-launched (since June 2020) or in-development solutions.
Outstanding Promotion of Protection
This award seeks to recognise the company that is doing its upmost to promote protection both within the industry and beyond the insurance bubble to the general public. Examples of promotions we can consider in this context include effective industry campaigns, widespread adviser training, social media buzz or anything else that has increased positive interest in our industry and the products within it. This is open to any insurer that has launched a campaign to promote protection within the past 12 months (from June 2020 - June 2021).
Outstanding Group Health Insurance
This award seeks to reward the best insurer providing a group private medical insurance scheme to the employees of UK employers.
Outstanding Group Critical Illness
This award seeks to reward the best insurer providing a group critical illness scheme to the employees of UK employers.
Outstanding Group Income Protection
This award seeks to reward the best insurer providing a group income protection scheme to the employees of UK employers.
Outstanding Individual Health Insurance
This award seeks to reward the best insurer providing private medical insurance to individual policyholders.
Outstanding Individual Critical Illness
This award seeks to reward the best insurer providing critical illness cover to individual policyholders.
Outstanding Individual Income Protection
This award seeks to reward the best insurer providing income protection insurance to individual policyholders.
Outstanding Individual Life Insurance
This award seeks to reward the best insurer providing life insurance to individual policyholders.
Outstanding Business Protection
Awarded to an insurer offering the best solutions tailored to businesses over the past 12 months, including products such, as key person cover and shareholder protection.
Outstanding Protection Product Innovation
This is open to any provider of insurance or insurance services that has released an innovative new product in the past 12 months (from June 2020 - June 2021).
Outstanding Protection Platform
Awarded to an insurer or third-party providing stand-out protection platform technology to intermediaries. This can include underwriting solutions, adviser-led customer journeys and services used to distribute protection products.
Who are the industry’s most promising prospects? Who is already showing the potential for greatness in their field and destined to be our next protection, life or healthcare leader? While there is no age limit for this award, this year’s winners will be able to evidence their impressive career progression over the past 12 months (June 2020 - June 2021) while showing huge potential for the future.
Outstanding Mental Health & Wellbeing Support [NEW FOR 2021]
Mental health and wellbeing have rapidly become one of the key elements of health and protection propositions since the onset of the Covid pandemic and will form a central part of any offering going forward. This award seeks to recognise the insurance or service provider that has gone above and beyond in its support of mental health and wellbeing for either individual or group cover.
Insurance Leader of the Year
Open to the most influential industry members of the life, protection and health insurance space. Candidates can be working in any industry position (i.e not just for a provider). Who has worked most passionately and tirelessly to drive meaningful change over the past 12 months?
