Meg, a solicitor, spent 20 years advising life and disability insurers on contentious claims, drafting policies, and provided training. She was also involved in the 7Families initiative. She says that this experience equips to her to understand the growing challenges faced by the industry in the ever-evolving landscape. In 2010 she set up a charity called LegaCare. Its aim is to help the most vulnerable in society who’ve received a devastating diagnosis of a life threatening/life limiting illness. She helps not only the patient but also their loved ones work their way through the mire of legal challenges whilst also juggling hospital appointments, surgery and treatment plans. To date, LegaCare has helped nearly 8000 people. In December, 2024 she was awarded an MBE for services to law and vulnerable people and she will share some of the challenges they face and offer a few ideas that may help build a more holistic approach to client-centric services.
