Frankly, he says that he ‘hated doing mortgages’ and for him, mortgages were just the lead gen for the conversations he actually wanted to be having about protection. Something he tried to instill within his team and this was the foundation that Peaks success was built upon.

A firm believer that old school, high pressure techniques and jargon belong in the bin, Rhys is a passionate advocate of having a repeatable process for having high quality protection conversations that use some of the many tools that exist these days to make our jobs easier.

The name of the game is to not leave your customers feeling sold to, but that they’ve bought something they want and understand.

After selling Peak in 2023, these days you’ll find Rhys advising his own clients predominantly on business protection and PMI as well as spending a few days a month providing consultancy support to mortgage practice principles trying to improve their teams protection performance
