Clare qualified as a lawyer and Notary Public in September 2002 and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland. Post qualification Clare spent five years at Aegon Scottish Equitable in the legal department specialising in protection, followed by four years at Pinsent Masons LLP covering pensions and protection. She then moved to Prudential for over six years and ended up leading the pensions side of the technical team. Clare joined Royal London in April 2018 and is responsible for the technical and marketing compliance teams as well as presenting, writing articles and commenting for the consumer and trade press about pensions, tax and trusts. Clare is also involved in consumer and wider industry issues like financial resilience and the gender wealth and pensions gap. Clare is Royal London’s pension expert and has appeared frequently on the BBC, and other broadcast media, talking about a range of topics.
Clare lives in central Scotland and enjoys running and swimming with friends and family and spending time with her husband, 3 teenagers and dog.
